Position Summary:
Coordinates and maintains consistent workflow of all Laboratory office tasks to ensure efficient operations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Performs general office duties including faxing, copying, scanning, and filing.
- Communicates with customers, staff, and physicians to answer questions and report results.
- Maintains office equipment and orders supplies.
- Creates, maintains, and updates files, databases, records, and other documents.
- Data entry that supports office needs, ICD-10 and CPT coding, and outreach registrations.
- Transcribe dictation reports, and clerical duties, that supports pathologists.
- Dispatches and manages slides and specimens for consults, referrals and other requests.
- Dispatches phlebotomy draws as needed.
- Assists with maintaining employee records and storage of regulatory certifications.
- Performs other related duties as required and directed.
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate degree
- Clerical experience in a laboratory setting
- Prior Medical Transcription experience
