What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper position at McLane Ranch?
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Groundskeeper to maintain the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of the grounds for a large cattle ranch. This role is essential to the smooth operation and presentation of the ranch.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform basic landscape duties on a large property including but not limited to mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, fertilizing, watering, laying down sod and mulch, planting flowers, shrubs and trees, cleaning debris, digging, blowing leaves, pulling weeds, etc.
- Responsible for the overall upkeep of the property landscape and exterior image which includes cleaning of driveways, exterior walkways, or any other general areas; maintenance of property flowerbeds, plants and grass areas, preparations for various weather conditions.
- Maintain and care for grounds keeping tools, supplies and equipment.
- Operate vehicles and powered equipment associated with landscape maintenance such as mowers, lawn tractors, twin-axle vehicles, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, blower, and hand tools.
- Ability to operate a tractor for shredding, hay production, etc.
- Perform light repair and maintenance on landscape features and irrigation system.
- Ensure the property is fully functional, safe and attractive
- Clean and remove trash and debris from the property
- Practice consistent dependability, attendance and adheres to work schedules
- Ability to perform physical tasks in all weather conditions
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Background & Drug Screening prior to hiring
- Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or ranch work preferred.
- Prior experience operating a tractor preferred
Compensation
- Hourly wage based on experience

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, The regular work schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though longer hours may be required based on operational needs.
