Key Responsibilities
- Follow direction provided by department supervisor.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to, and enforcing, all safety procedures and policies inside and outside the facility, including use of personal protective and McLanahan equipment as required.
- Represent McLanahan Corporation in a positive manner both internally and externally while adhering to the organization’s core values.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- Load/Unload material to/from the saw and storage racks as needed.
- Ability to unload trucks from vendors.
- Operate overhead crane to move material.
- Operate horizontal and vertical band saws as well as other cutting equipment.
- Ensure cuts meet dimensional and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saw equipment.
- Maintain a clean work area utilizing 5S principles and daily organizational skills.
- Produce material within prescribed standards for both quality and timeliness.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Experience working in a team environment and communicating between shifts.
- Ability to complete cross training on other equipment and procedures throughout the department as determined by management.
- Able to identify steel plates, beams, channel, angle, and round and flat stock.
Education/Qualifications/Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or other sufficient training/experience.
- Prior experience reading and understanding blueprints to build a product.
- Two (2) – four (4) years of similar experience in a heavy manufacturing environment and operating a saw.
- Prior experience using hand tools to measure products.
- Prior experience operating overhead crane and safety rigging materials.

- Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Physical Requirements:
This position is typically located in a manufacturing environment and requires sitting and standing for long periods of time. The position requires sufficient ambulatory skills to travel domestically. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, visual acuity to use a keyboard, and maneuver materials (lift, carry, move, etc...) as assigned. Requires the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of both verbal and written communication.
