Position Overview

The Charge Nurse is responsible for ensuring high-quality care for our residents by delivering direct nursing services and supervising Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Certified Medication Technicians (CMTs), and Restorative Nursing Assistants. This role also serves as a key point of communication between residents, families, and healthcare providers.

We are looking for someone with strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and deliver nursing care during assigned shifts.

• Supervise and mentor CNAs, CMTs, and Restorative Nursing Assistants.

• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and physicians to ensure optimal care.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in the electronic health record system.

• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and organizational policies.

• Monitor and manage narcotics and psychotropic medications.

• Identify and respond to emergency situations promptly and appropriately.

• Participate in care plan meetings and provide input on resident needs.

• Report maintenance or safety concerns as needed.

• Provide staff education and recommend corrective actions to the Director of Nursing.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri is required.

• CPR certification and IV certification are preferred.

• At least one year of experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or similar setting preferred.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• Ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.

• Proficiency in electronic health records is a plus.

• Must be proficient in both written and verbal English.
