Position Overview
The Charge Nurse is responsible for ensuring high-quality care for our residents by delivering direct nursing services and supervising Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Certified Medication Technicians (CMTs), and Restorative Nursing Assistants. This role also serves as a key point of communication between residents, families, and healthcare providers.
We are looking for someone with strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents every day.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and deliver nursing care during assigned shifts.
Supervise and mentor CNAs, CMTs, and Restorative Nursing Assistants.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and physicians to ensure optimal care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in the electronic health record system.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and organizational policies.
Monitor and manage narcotics and psychotropic medications.
Identify and respond to emergency situations promptly and appropriately.
Participate in care plan meetings and provide input on resident needs.
Report maintenance or safety concerns as needed.
Provide staff education and recommend corrective actions to the Director of Nursing.
Qualifications
Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri is required.
CPR certification and IV certification are preferred.
At least one year of experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or similar setting preferred.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
Proficiency in electronic health records is a plus.
Must be proficient in both written and verbal English.
