McKinnon's Market & Super Butcher Shop is committed to providing our customers with the highest quality meats and exceptional service. We are seeking friendly, dependable, and customer-focused individuals to join our Meat Department team.

Position Summary

As a Service Meat Counter Associate, you will provide outstanding customer service while maintaining an attractive, well-stocked service counter. Responsibilities include assisting customers with product selections, special requests, and phone orders, as well as preparing our popular hand-made specialty items, including fresh burger patties, stuffed chicken breasts, marinated meats, kabobs, and other value-added products. You will help ensure the highest standards of quality, freshness, and food safety throughout the department while contributing to a positive shopping experience for every customer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
• Assist customers with meat selections, special requests, cooking recommendations, and custom orders.
• Take and fill customer phone orders accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare hand-made specialty items including burger patties, stuffed chicken breasts, marinated meats, kabobs, and other value-added products.
• Package, label, and stock meat products for display and sale.
• Maintain attractive, full, and properly rotated service case displays.
• Ensure product quality, freshness, and proper food safety standards are maintained.
• Keep work areas, equipment, and displays clean, organized, and sanitized.
• Assist with inventory control, stocking, merchandising, and department upkeep as needed.
• Work collaboratively with fellow associates and department management to achieve department goals.

Qualifications

• Previous retail, food service, meat department, butcher shop, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Willingness to learn product knowledge and meat department procedures.

Schedule Requirements

• Evening availability is required (shifts may run until approximately 8:00 PM).
• Weekend availability is required.
• Flexible schedule preferred.
