Eligible for a raise after 30-day probation period with safe driving and on-time pickup and delivery track record.
Duties
- Safely operate a box truck while adhering to all traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Deliver goods to various locations, including customer sites and warehouses, following designated routes efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during delivery appointments.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs using mobile devices or electronic systems, documenting all deliveries and pickups.
- Assist with warehouse operations as needed, including moving inventory and organizing stock for efficient dispatch.
Requirements
- Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations involving manual handling and material movement.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating box trucks or commercial trucks preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper lifting practices; experience with heavy lifting is a plus.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is desirable; willingness to learn if not already experienced.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safe driving practices essential for compliance and safety.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation, delivery documentation, and communication.
- Ability to work independently while managing time effectively across multiple deliveries.
