McKinley Paper and Packaging Company is looking for an Environmental Engineer to support our Wisconsin Mill.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
Responsible for actively managing environmental programs and compliance, including reporting, permitting, testing, training and strategic planning. Mentors, coaches and directs employees in their assigned environmental areas. Leads efforts to achieve compliance with environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Completes and maintains required government reports with respect to air, water quality and solid waste management
- Responsible for preparing applications, and receiving and maintaining all necessary environmental permits
- Provides technical assistance to operations through data analysis, process monitoring, and up-to-date knowledge of environmental systems and procedures
- Champions and leads the daily execution of the Environmental Management System. Leads efforts to achieve compliance and supports a continuous improvement attitude within the Mill Organization
- Maintains Mill’s SPCC (Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures) program
- Maintains professional affiliations with outside organizations (WDNR, EPA, WPC) to stay abreast of environmental regulatory requirements, potential changes to federal and states rules that could impact the facility, and means for achieving regulatory compliance
- Maintains appropriate compliance documentation
- Demonstrates compliance with all State and Federal environmental permitting
- Conducts engineering project review for all environmental related projects
- Complies and submits environmental data as requested by executive team
- Trains and coaches managers to develop skills to improve engagement in environmental efforts and programs
- Supervises annual air emission and compliance tests
- Maintains Environmental Incident Report database
- Manages all waste, recycling and universal waste programs for the facility
- Maintains the monthly regulatory documentation and submits the State/Federal environmental reports as required in permits and environmental rules
- Serves as a champion for implementation of sustainable business practices within the mill
- Reviews environmental impact of proposed chemicals & materials, and approves their use
- Prepares and maintains facility Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans
- Demonstrates excellent attendance and punctuality in daily activities and long-term projects.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience:
- 5 years of environmental experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Excellent analytical skills, strong ability to read and interpret technical and regulatory material
- Intellectually curious and passionate about environmental affairs
Education:
Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering, science or related discipline is required; masters in engineering, science or related discipline is preferred.
Salary : $125,000 - $145,000
