Converting Supervisor

McKinley Paper and Packaging Company, a leading independent Corrugated Packaging manufacturer is seeking candidates for a Converting Supervisor for our facility in Covington GA. This position will be working two weeks during the AM shift and the following two weeks it will be working during the PM shift.

Primary responsibilities are to provide leadership to the Converting personnel on the operating floor and excellence in the demonstration of the commitment to our safety and quality initiatives. The shift supervisor is responsible for coaching, training, and developing direct reports in safety, quality, production, problem solving, and technical skills involved in the operation of Die Cutters and Flexos. The supervisor is responsible for communicating and working with other department supervisors, the Production Management team, and Customer Service to ensure quality, on-time production goals are met.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership in safety process and coordinating department safety education.
• Achieve quality initiatives by leading processes to ensure lowest cost and best quality.
• Minimizing waste within the department by driving awareness, training, and accountability.
• Drive maximum throughput within the department by increasing uptimes and machine speeds.
• Identifies machine issues and works with maintenance to correct.
• Accuracy in the reporting of production documentation and data entry.
• Coach and develop employees to maximize effectiveness.

Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years progressively responsible experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity and the ability to self-direct and motivate.
• Knowledge of the converting department and converting processes.
• Communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate with hourly personnel as well as managers.
• Ability and flexibility to think, react, and adapt quickly to changing customer requirements and manufacturing challenges.
• Corrugator industry knowledge is required.
• Kiwi software and BHS equipment knowledge is a plus.
