Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Staff member to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our facilities. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for performing routine inspections, troubleshooting equipment issues, and executing repairs across various systems. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced setting while contributing to the overall functionality of our facilities. Must be willing to work nights or weekends and on call as needed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems, machinery, and infrastructure to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Operate tools such as welders, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Manage facilities maintenance tasks including residential painting, carpentry, plumbing repairs, and electrical work.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (TELS) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule future tasks.
- Supervise junior staff and contractors during projects ensuring safety standards and quality control are met.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance.
Requirements
- Preferred experience in facilities maintenance within manufacturing, residential, or skilled nursing facility environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems, and schematics interpretation.
- Knowledge of software for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting with tools like ohmmeters; familiarity with electrical codes is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and coordination with team members.
