What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garden Center Associate position at McKinley Garden Center?
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with their gardening needs and provide excellent customer service
- Provide product recommendations and answer customer questions about plants, gardening tools, and lawn care products
- Maintain a clean and organized garden center
- Assist with inventory management and restocking of products
- Receiving and unloading trucks with plant materials
- Maintain plants by weeding, fertilizing, pruning, etc.
Skills:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to do manual physical labor - Unloading/Loading of large trees, lifting, & digging.
- Multilingual (Spanish speaking) skills are a plus
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain a clean and well-stocked garden center
- Sales experience in a retail environment preferred but not necessary
- Basic math skills for retail calculations such as delivery fees, discount totals, etc. preferred but not necessary
