Our company is seeking a dedicated entry-level 811 Utility Locator to join our team. As a Utility Locator, you will play a crucial role in preventing accidents and damage by accurately identifying and marking underground utility lines.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize maps, records, and other resources to accurately locate underground utility lines.
- Use specialized equipment to mark the location of utilities, following industry standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with construction crews and contractors to ensure the safe excavation and installation of utilities.
- Maintain accurate records of utility locations and updates.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify potential hazards or issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a utility locator or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of underground utility systems and the ability to interpret maps and records.
- Familiarity with utility locating equipment, such as electromagnetic locators and ground-penetrating radar.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
