Job Summary:
- Medical Records Clerk Specialist participates as a member of the Medical Records services by performing technical and specialized medical record functions in an accurate, timely, and complete manner.
- Receptionist functions, retrieving discharged charts from patient nursing units, filing records, prepping, scanning, and indexing discharged charts for the EMR system.
- All specialists must demonstrate the ability to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis and reanalysis of all patient positions, are responsible for answering the telephone as needed, follow up on requests, assisting physicians, terminal-digit filing, tracking charts in and out of department, delivering charts to requesting units and responding to pneumatic tube system requests.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required. College coursework in medical record practices preferred.
- Minimum of three years demonstrated hospital medical records experience required.
- Must possess an in-depth working knowledge of general clerk processes.
