PAY RANGE: Starting at $16.80 , based on experience

Fitness Trainer PRN

Job Summary:

The fitness instructor develops and instructs fitness classes for members providing instruction and class programs for all levels and abilities.  They provide orientation and assistance to members and customers of wellness center in use of equipment. This position is to fill in for staff as needed. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Customer Service/Information Desk
• Orients members to equipment use and monitors their use.
• Maintains equipment as required and reports any equipment problems to supervisor.
• Performs all aspects of member care in an environment that optimizes member safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors
• Stays current with industry trends utilizing, in-services, media, journals, periodicals, etc
• Stays current on use of new techniques and equipment; attends in-services, provides equipment education. 
• Develops, monitors and evaluates rehabilitation programs for injured athletes using physical therapy protocols.
• Ability to assess fitness levels of clients to develop fitness regimen to help them safely achieve goals.
• Ability to work with a variety of client ages, conditions and personalities.
• Puts together fitness program for an individual or group of clients.
• Instructs fitness class for all fitness levels and abilities. 
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Detail oriented
• Ability to work cooperatively with people and to maintain an objective attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Prolonged periods of standing, bending and reaching.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous Fitness trainer experience
• Previous customer service experience required

Licenses/Certifications:

• Fitness Trainer certification preferred.
