Annapolis-based law firm seeking a Virginia-licensed Estates and Trusts attorney to join our growing practice group. This position is open to Virginia-based candidates and does not require working in our Annapolis office. Office space is available in Arlington, Virginia, and we are open to flexible working arrangements.
Our growing Estates and Trusts Practice Group seeks an experienced attorney to join our group. Our Firm specifically seeks an attorney licensed in Virginia with experience in the practice area. The attorney will support clients with estate planning needs and estate/trust administration clients. This role is ideal for an attorney who is client-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling a range of matters from initial consultation through implementation and administration.
The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a collaborative, fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
Estate Planning Duties:
· Meet with clients to design and implement comprehensive estate plans, including wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance medical directives
· Advise clients on estate planning strategies tailored to their goals and family dynamics
· Review and analyze client financial and asset information to support planning recommendations
· Oversee drafting and execution of estate planning documents in coordination with paralegals and staff
· Participate in client meetings and signing appointments, ensuring a high-quality client experience
Estate & Trust Administration Duties:
· Guide fiduciaries through the estate and trust administration process from initial intake through closing
· Assist with probate filings and related court requirements in Virginia
· Advise clients on fiduciary duties, timelines, and administration strategy
· Coordinate with internal team members to ensure timely completion of administration tasks
· Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and manage expectations
Qualifications
Required:
· J.D.
· Active Virginia Bar License
· Preferred DC Bar License and Maryland Bar License
· Experience within the estate planning and/or estate and trust administration practice area
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
· Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines with attention to detail
· Professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff
· Comfort participating in client consultations and meetings
Preferred:
· Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment
· Familiarity with practice management software
Compensation
$85,000 - $130,000
Commensurate with experience
