McKeever Price Chopper is looking for a motivated and dependable Assistant Deli Manager to help oversee the daily operations of our deli department. If you’re passionate about food, customer service, and team development, this role offers a great opportunity to take the next step in your career.
Position Overview:
As Assistant Deli Manager, you will work closely with the Deli Manager to lead deli associates, ensure high food quality, and maintain cleanliness and food safety standards. You’ll play a key role in customer satisfaction by delivering fresh, delicious food with friendly service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in supervising deli staff and ensuring efficient daily operations
- Prepare and serve hot and cold deli foods, including sandwiches, salads, and rotisserie items
- Monitor product rotation, inventory levels, and stock ordering
- Ensure all deli areas meet company food safety, cleanliness, and presentation standards
- Train and coach deli associates on food prep, equipment use, and customer service
- Assist in merchandising deli displays and executing promotions
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly
- Fill in for the Deli Manager during absences or peak times
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Previous experience in food service, deli, or kitchen environment preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Physical Requirements:
- Stand for long periods (4–8 hours per shift)
- Lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks (cutting, lifting, reaching)
- Work in warm and cold environments (kitchen and cooler)
- Comfortable with food prep equipment (slicers, ovens, scales)
