We’re seeking a detail-oriented and organized Health Information Management (HIM) Clerk to support our mission by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of patient health records.
About the Role
The HIM Clerk is responsible for collecting, processing, and maintaining, patient health information in both electronic and paper formats. This role plays a vital part in safeguarding patient confidentiality while ensuring timely and accurate access to records for authorized users.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile, organize, and maintain patient medical records, both digital and physical.
- Review charts for completeness and accuracy, making sure all necessary information is present and correctly recorded.
- Safeguard patient information and adhere to all privacy laws, such as HIPPA
- Accurately enter and maintain data in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Maintain working knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, medications, and immunizations.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 2 years of experience in a professional work setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Direct experience in the handling of electronic patient health information and/or medical records
- AA/AS degree in a related field
- Certification in Health Information Management or Certified Medical Assistant with a specialty in administration.
