The Los Angeles office of McGuireWoods seeks an Associate to join its Financial Services and Securities Enforcement Department.
The cornerstone of McGuireWoods’ financial services and securities enforcement group is the team’s ability to effectively represent the interests of the vital, growing and increasingly complex financial services sector. This representation includes securities, lender liability, regulatory issues, loan workouts, foreclosures, class actions and credit card-related matters. Lawyers’ experience encompasses the expanding services offered by financial institutions, including recent cases involving securities fraud, failed asset securitizations and defaulted syndicated loans. The firm also represents banks in connection with commercial disputes, business torts and intellectual property matters.

Salary: $260,000 - 365,000
Job Requirements
- Qualified candidates will have 3-5 years of relevant experience in a top 100 law firm setting to include:
- Experience with representing accounting firms and public companies in financial reporting, accounting, disclosure and tax matters
- Civil litigation skills with experience in shareholder suits, SEC, and PCAOB enforcement actions, and disputes arising out of private equity deals
- Clerkship experience a plus
- Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with client, business, and legal teams.
- Must have a strong academic record, excellent writing, and oral communication skills.
- Willingness and desire to work with innovative technology platforms. Our attorneys leverage Harvey AI to accelerate research, streamline document drafting, and enhance analytical work, allowing associates to focus on higher-value strategic thinking and client engagement.
- California Bar is required.
