The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and organized Reconditioning Manager to take ownership of our Used Vehicle Reconditioning Department. In this role, you will be the "Captain of the Ship" for our pre-owned inventory, ensuring every vehicle that hits our lot is safe, mechanically sound, and detailed to perfection.

You will bridge the gap between our Service Technicians, Detail Crew, and Sales Team, ensuring a fast, high-quality turnaround that gets vehicles ready for the front line immediately.

What You Will Do

• Quarterback the Process: Oversee the entire lifecycle of vehicle reconditioning from acquisition (trade-in or auction) to "front-line ready" status.

• Manage Workflow: Prioritize work for technicians and detailers to minimize downtime. Your goal is to keep "days to market" as low as possible without sacrificing quality.

• Quality Control: personally inspect vehicles to ensure they meet McGraw Ford’s high standards for safety, mechanical performance, and cosmetic appearance.

• Vendor Management: Coordinate with third-party vendors (glass, dent repair, upholstery, wheels) to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.

• Coastal Considerations: Ensure specific attention is paid to coastal factors (undercarriage checks, salt air protection) that matter to our local buyers.

• Team Leadership: Mentor and motivate the reconditioning team, fostering a culture of accountability and pride in workmanship.

Who You Are

• Experienced: You have previous experience in automotive service management, reconditioning, or a similar high-volume service role.

• Tech-Savvy: You are comfortable using Dealership Management Systems (DMS) and inventory software to track vehicle status in real-time.

• A Strong Communicator: You can clearly communicate vehicle status to the Sales Managers and explain repair needs to the General Manager.

• Detail-Oriented: You have a critical eye; you notice the scratch on the bumper or the missing button that others might miss.

• Local Mindset: You understand the unique needs of Aransas Pass and Coastal Bend drivers.
