What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lube Rack / Maintenance Technician position at McGraw Ford?
Lube Rack / Maintenance Technician
Location: McGraw Ford, Aransas Pass, TX
Job Type: Full-Time | Entry-Level with Rapid Growth Potential
Don’t Just Change Oil. Start Your Career.
At McGraw Ford, we don’t view our Lube Technicians as just "oil changers." We view you as Future Master Technicians.
We are investing millions in a new facility and growing faster than any other Ford dealer in the Coastal Bend. We need a "Pit Crew" of sharp, hardworking technicians who are ready to learn the right way to service vehicles. If you have mechanical aptitude and a hunger to learn, we will provide the training, the tools, and the path to a six-figure career.
The Mission
You are the first line of defense for our customers' vehicles. Your job is to perform fast, accurate maintenance that keeps their cars running safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Be Doing:
The Basics, Perfected: Perform oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements with speed and precision.
Multi-Point Inspections: You are the eyes and ears of the shop. You’ll inspect brakes, tires, fluids, and belts to identify safety issues before they become breakdowns.
Quick Lane Efficiency: Work with a "pit crew" mentality to get customers back on the road quickly without cutting corners.
Learn by Doing: Assist our Main Shop Technicians with light repairs (batteries, bulbs, wiper blades) to build your skills.
Shop Hygiene: Keep your bay clean, organized, and safe. A messy bay is a dangerous bay.
The "McGraw Ford" Difference
We don’t just throw you on the rack and forget about you.
Paid Training: We pay for your Ford Factory Certification training.
Mentorship: You will work alongside Senior Master Technicians who are willing to teach you the trade.
Tool Assistance: We offer programs to help you start building your professional tool set.
Career Path: We have a clear roadmap: Lube Tech $\to$ Apprentice $\to$ Line Tech $\to$ Master Tech.
Who We Are Looking For
Mechanical Aptitude: You don't need to be an expert yet, but you should know your way around a hood and basic hand tools.
Reliable & Punctual: The shop runs on a schedule. We need people who show up on time, every time.
Physical Stamina: You must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a non-climate-controlled shop (it gets hot in Texas, but we keep the fans moving!).
Valid Driver’s License: Mandatory. You will be moving customer vehicles.
Tech-Savvy: You must be comfortable using a tablet/computer to log inspections and view service manuals.
