Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Automotive Controller to oversee all financial operations of the dealership. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning to support continued growth and profitability.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in automotive accounting, dealership operations, and team leadership, with a proactive mindset and high level of integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all dealership accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements in accordance with manufacturer and company guidelines
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports
- Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Reconcile all accounts and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets
- Supervise and develop accounting office staff
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Work closely with the General Manager and leadership team to drive financial performance
- Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Automotive Controller or Assistant Controller in a dealership environment
- Strong knowledge of dealership accounting practices and financial reporting
- Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds, CDK, or similar DMS systems preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- High level of integrity, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $80,000 – $120,000 (DOE)
