Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Medvolve and/or Urochart.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorizations, and handle insurance verifications accurately.
- Collect and process patient payments, including copays and outstanding balances, utilizing medical billing and collection procedures.
- Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and CPT coding standards.
- Manage referral processes by coordinating with specialists, reviewing care plans, and ensuring timely communication between providers.
- Maintain accurate medical records, update patient information in EMR system.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, respond to patient inquiries promptly, and direct calls appropriately.
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized medical records.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
- Experience with EMR systems.
- Familiarity with health information management standards such as HIPAA compliance.
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Proven clinic experience in a healthcare setting with excellent administrative support skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills for efficient documentation review and data entry.
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience in a busy office environment.
- Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately using tools like Medicare or other payers’ portals.
