Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Heavy Equipment Operator role based in Delray Beach, FL. The Heavy Equipment Operator will safely operate and maneuver heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, and other machinery to move, load, and process organic materials within the composting facility. Daily responsibilities include conducting pre- and post-operation inspections, performing basic equipment care, and promptly reporting any mechanical issues. The role involves maintaining material stockpiles, assisting with excavation and site preparation, and supporting efficient facility operations in varying weather conditions. The operator will follow established safety procedures, adhere to environmental and quality standards, and collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Heavy Equipment and Equipment Operation for loaders, excavators, and related machinery in an industrial or construction environment.
- Experience with Equipment Maintenance and basic troubleshooting to ensure safe, reliable operation and minimize downtime.
- Knowledge of Excavation techniques and safe earthmoving practices in support of site preparation and material handling.
- Familiarity with Used Equipment considerations, including awareness of wear, inspection needs, and safe operating limits.
- Previous experience in a composting, waste management, recycling, construction, or agricultural setting is preferred.
- Ability to work safely in outdoor, fast-paced environments, including lifting, climbing, and operating in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, environmental responsibility, and following standard operating procedures.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse operations team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or licenses for heavy equipment operation are a plus.
