Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Ramp Agent to join our ground operations team at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA). In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient aircraft handling operations, including baggage loading/unloading and equipment operation.
- Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail safely and efficiently
- Operate various ground support equipment including belt loaders, tugs, and pushback tractors
- Guide aircraft into and out of gates using hand signals and wing walking procedures
- Perform aircraft cabin services including cleaning and restocking
- Evaluate for compliance with all safety regulations and procedures
- Maintain clear communication with flight crews and other ground personnel
- Monitor weather conditions and take appropriate safety measures
- Assist in de-icing operations during winter weather conditions
- Perform regular equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
Responsibilities
- Must have the ability to lift 75 pounds on a frequent basis
- Work varied shifts; weekends and holidays
- Obtain and maintain an airport security clearance, customs seal, and/or USPS security clearance
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to get along with others
- Understanding and ability to utilize electronic tools to interpret flight schedules and airline flight destination information
- Ability to give/receive oral instructions in English
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Requirements
- Working knowledge of equipment such as tugs/tractors, and belt loaders
- Familiarity working in an environment full of activity, fast-paced, and often noisy
- Able to work while on their knees, at or above their shoulders, or while bending or stooping
- Basic mathematical functions such as counting bags and verifying cargo weights
Physical Requirements
All team members are required to be able to constantly lift, push, pull, stack, and maneuver up to 75 pounds on a frequent, consistent, and repetitive basis.
