Position Summary

The Assistant Residential Director provides leadership and oversight of residential programs serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, person-centered supports in compliance with state regulations, licensing standards, and organizational values. The Assistant Residential Director

The Assistant Director supervises and oversees a caseload of residential homes and the supervisors of those homes.  They provide guidance and accountability to ensure the individuals in the homes are cared for, and the home is operating within the confines of licensing guidelines at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Program Accountability

  • Has programmatic and regulatory understanding of 6400 regulations, supported oversight guidelines and an understanding of required documentation requirements
  • Ensure residents receive individualized, person-centered supports that promote independence, safety, and community integration.
  • Responsible for the overall operations of the 6400 group homes and individuals identified on your caseload
  • Implement continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure medical and behavioral services are provided and aligned with the individuals' needs in conjunction with their medical and behavior team
  • Responsible for participating in the individual plan process, development, team reviews, and implementation of the plan  
  • Complete annual paperwork in correlation to 6400 regulations 
  • Ensuring the individuals on your caseload are receiving all services as outlined and authorized in their service plan 
  • Complete monthly and quarterly paperwork as necessary by program requirements in a timely manner 
  • Onsite visits to homes on your caseload on a weekly basis at minimum
  • Participate, plan and create Team meeting agendas 
  • Schedule meetings, monitors, and annual reviews with entire treatment team 
  • Participate in weekly supervision with your direct supervisor 
  • Utilize the chosen Aegis Electronic Health Record to its fullest capacity. This includes tracking authorizations, service notes, data to complete progress notes and behavioral data
  • Assist with internal transitions of individuals as well as new admissions 

Staff Development & Supervision

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate residential supervisors, DSPs, and Program Specialist staff 
  • Have ahigh-level understanding of each position you directly supervise with the ability to fill in for those areas as needed
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable work culture that emphasizes teamwork and professional growth.
  • Work on the development of supervisors with an emphasis of on-going training, accountability and developing a strong mutual and professional relationship
  • Participate in weekly supervision with those you directly supervise
  • Ensures that all programs, their staff, and their leadership work together and complement each other.  
  • Create and implement trainings as needed based on Aegis individual’s needs and as required by ODP, county or other oversight guidance 
  • Educate and train staff and supervisors on services, responsibilities and requirements for successful program completion and billing 
  • Assist with scheduling if needed
  • Assist in training staff in the Aegis Electronic Health Record
  • Track authorizations and billing for services.  Ensure services are being provided as intended and per technical guidelines 
  • Ensure the overall quality of programs and implement changes as necessary 
  • Meet with DSPs regularly.  Provide guidance, direction and leadership consistently.   
  • Ensure those directly reporting to you are completing their essential job responsibilities 

Community & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents’ families, guardians, support coordinators, and external partners.
  • Serve as a liaison with funding sources, regulatory bodies, and community organizations.
  • Represent the organization in community forums and professional networks.
  • Communicate with individuals, support coordinators, families, and natural supports  
  • Participate in assigned committees as assigned and when needed 
  • Oversee additional positions as needed in response to agency growth 

Qualifications

- **Education: ** bachelor’s degree in human services, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
 - **Experience: ** Minimum 5–7 years of progressive management experience in intellectual disability, developmental disability, or human services settings. Oversight of the development and implementation of residential agency-wide policies and procedures. Supervision of management-level staff
 - **Knowledge & Skills: **
   - Strong understanding of state licensing, ODP/Medicaid regulations, and best practices in residential supports.
   - Proven fiscal management and budgetary skills.
   - Demonstrated leadership in staff supervision, training, and performance management.
   - Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
   - Commitment to person-centered planning and empowerment of individuals served.

Work Environment & Expectations

- Ability to travel between program sites and attend meetings as needed.

 - Flexible schedule required, including some evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.

Salary : $60,000
