Duties
- Record and process journal entries accurately within multiple accounting software platforms such as Quickbooks, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage or similar platforms.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations to ensure all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are resolved promptly
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment scheduling
- Assist in the preparation of detailed financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget analyses for internal review
- Maintain precise records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements
- Support account analysis by reviewing debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger activities to uphold data integrity
Requirements
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles. Petroleum industry specific experience encouraged.
- Knowledge of GAAP regulations and double-entry bookkeeping methodology
- Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation efficiently
- Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, budgeting, and technical accounting procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with high accuracy in data entry (10 key typing proficiency preferred)
- Ability to interpret financial reports and write clear financial summaries for management review
- Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving
