Overview
McFarland Chevrolet is seeking a skilled and reliable Service Technician to join our team. The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment while adhering to GM and dealership standards.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles.
- Utilize GM diagnostic tools, software, and service information systems to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
- Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs according to GM guidelines and dealership procedures.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and provide accurate recommendations for necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance services (oil changes, tire rotations, brake service, alignments, etc.).
- Repair and replace engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering components, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed repair documentation and time records.
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding vehicle status, needed repairs, and timelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Stay current on Chevrolet technical bulletins, recalls, and training requirements.
