Job Summary
The Car Sales Consultant plays a key role in guiding customers through their purchase journey — from the first conversation to the final handshake. The ideal candidate will excel at building trust, communicating clearly, and providing a dependable customer experience at every step. This role requires a blend of automotive knowledge, strong interpersonal skills, and a driven mindset focused on meeting goals and delivering results.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers in-person, over the phone, and online to understand their automotive needs and preferences
- Conduct professional vehicle demonstrations and clearly explain features, packages, and benefits
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through outbound calling, follow-ups, cold calling, and B2B outreach
- Negotiate effectively to ensure a win-win outcome that aligns with customer expectations and dealership goals
- Upsell protection products, accessories, and services that enhance the customer’s ownership experience
- Assist with inventory management and understand current stock to match customers with the right vehicles
- Utilize CRM tools to manage leads, track communication, and follow up with consistency and dependability
- Support dealership marketing initiatives by promoting specials, events, and community involvement
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the entire sales process, ensuring every guest feels valued
- Maintain strong communication skills, including phone etiquette, public speaking, and professional presentation
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in auto sales, retail, or high-end customer service preferred
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals with confidence and integrity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking abilities
- Proficiency in CRM systems, lead management, and basic inventory understanding
- Ability to perform accurate retail math for pricing, discounts, and profit calculations
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple customers at once
