Role Description This full-time, on-site Senior Civil Engineer role is based in Mobile, AL. The Senior Civil Engineer will lead and perform civil engineering design for site development, utilities, roadways, and stormwater management projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Responsibilities include preparing plans, specifications, and technical reports; reviewing designs prepared by junior staff; and coordinating with surveyors, geologists, and other engineering disciplines. The individual will manage project schedules and budgets, support permitting and regulatory submittals, and participate in client meetings and presentations. The role also involves mentoring early-career engineers, contributing to quality control processes, and supporting business development efforts through proposal input and technical expertise.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with the ability to apply core civil engineering principles to diverse infrastructure projects.
- Experience leading and mentoring Civil Engineers, including oversight of design tasks, technical review, and professional development.
- Proficiency in Planning and project coordination, including scheduling, budgeting, and managing multiple assignments concurrently.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering, preferably in Alabama (or ability to obtain licensure by reciprocity within a reasonable timeframe).
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; a master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering is a plus.
- Experience with civil design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent) and familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical documents and engage effectively with clients and regulatory agencies.
