Our rural Nevada gold mine is seeking a dedicated Mine Security Technician to help secure employees, contractors, visitors, and company assets while supporting safe, and efficient operations.
As a Mine Security Technician, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor radios and systems, manage site access, and verify that only authorized individuals enter the property. You will complete daily security reports, communicate alerts when needed, support operations crews with pre‑op and post‑op inspections, and maintain accurate documentation for all personnel arriving on site. The position also includes coordinating badging and temporary access for vendors and suppliers, participating in daily and weekly safety meetings, and upholding strict adherence to safety, regulatory, and company policies.
Success in this role requires strong situational awareness, accurate reporting, consistent adherence to SOPs, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to unusual or suspicious activity. Candidates should have knowledge of mining security principles, MSHA requirements, CCTV and access control systems, and basic security‑related computer programs. Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, problem solving ability, and comfortable using radios.
This position requires a valid driver’s license and the physical ability to work 12‑hour shifts, stand or walk for extended periods, climb ladders or stairs, lift up to 50 lbs, work in PPE (including a respirator when required), and operate in all weather conditions. A positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are key to thriving in this role and contributing to the overall safety and security of our mining operation.
