Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Asphalt Raker to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the proper placement and finishing of asphalt on various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction site operations and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain asphalt raking equipment to ensure smooth and even application of asphalt.
- Collaborate with the paving crew to prepare surfaces for asphalt laying, ensuring proper grading and leveling.
- Perform utility locating tasks to avoid damage to existing underground utilities during paving operations.
- Monitor the quality of asphalt during application, making adjustments as necessary for optimal results.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment on the construction site, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist in the operation of dump trucks and caterpillar bulldozers as needed during project execution.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in asphalt paving or related construction roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating heavy machinery is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of utility locating practices is advantageous.
- Must be physically fit and able to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- A valid driver's license may be required for operating company vehicles on-site.
