Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design process from initial concept through to final construction documentation for a variety of local projects.
- Perform detailed structural analysis and calculations to ensure every design meets safety and efficiency standards.
- Collaborate closely with architects and contractors to solve complex design challenges in real-time.
- Conduct site visits around the Reno area to inspect progress and ensure work aligns with our structural plans.
- Mentor junior staff members by sharing your technical knowledge and helping them grow their own design capabilities.
- Coordinate with municipal departments and building officials to secure necessary permits and approvals.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Nevada, or the ability to obtain it within six months.
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of four years of hands-on experience in structural design for commercial or residential buildings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural analysis software like RISA-3D or RAM.
- Strong understanding of current IBC and ASCE 7 building codes.
- Effective written communication skills for producing clear technical reports and construction documents.
- Working knowledge of Revit or similar BIM software is a significant plus.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
