About Us:
Welcome to our little nursery haven! We’ll spend this year improving the grounds, beautifying and bringing back a nearly 100 year old nursery to life! Every day will bring a new and different activity full of excitement. There’s never a dull moment…we’ll be nurturing baby trees, berries, shrubs (and let’s be honest, our tans). Join our team, and get ready for a summer filled with sunshine, laughter, and plenty of muddy adventures!
Responsibilities:
- Dive into the daily rhythm of nursery life: watering, weeding, planting, and organizing with gusto!
- Show our baby plants some love and attention as you help them grow big and strong.
- Embrace your inner MacGyver and lend a hand with various farm maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and implement creative ideas for improving the nursery operation, sustainability practices, or future plan.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of buildings, equipment, and common areas to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for visitors and staff.
- Participate in special projects such as building new infrastructure, installing irrigation systems, or creating signage to enhance the nursery’s aesthetics and functionality.
- Monitor plant health and pest management, identifying issues early and implementing appropriate solutions to ensure the vitality of crops and ornamental plants.
Requirements:
- A genuine love for the great outdoors and all things green.
- A can-do attitude and willingness to get your hands dirty and your brow sweaty
- Ability to work in various weather conditions because, let's face it, Mother Nature plays by her own rules, especially in Michigan!
- Team player mentality with a sprinkle of independence - we work together, but we also trust you to rock it solo when needed.
- Bonus points for previous farm or gardening experience, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are what truly make you shine!
