Job Description
The Field Human Resource People Manager focuses on execution of People practices, processes and tools in their field territory; consults to Field staff and Operators on HR-related issues; with support from the HR Director leverages COEs to provide expert support to Field staff and Operators; works collaboratively with the field HR team to deliver on key People priorities. The ideal candidate would be based out of Richmond, Virginia or Raleigh, North Carolina.
Responsibilities
People Component of Business Strategy
Provides input into the development of the Field’s Business Plan relative to staff competencies/capabilities
- Contributes to the identification of Field People priorities, and ensures tactics to execute those priorities are aligned with the Operator Leadership teams and Field Leadership
- Supports Field Operator Leadership teams in the delivery of the National People Strategy and Field People Plan
- Supports Field Leadership team in the execution of Field People Plan for staff
- Anticipates and put plans in place to address future business needs or potential issues/gaps related to staff competency/capability Functional Expert and Advisor
- Serves as a resource to Field staff and Operators relative to all People-related strategies, tools and processes
- Ensures assigned Field is fully staffed with engaged, committed, and high functioning employees; works to fill open roles quickly
- Coaches, counsels, provides direction to Field staff members on people-related issues to optimize the National People strategy
- Supports Operator community; Consults and provides recommendations to Field Service and Operators regarding talent acquisition tools at their disposal and the best thinking across the System about sourcing talent
- Coach and partner with People leaders to effectively execute staff recognition and rewards programs, and staff engagement activities (surveys, outings, meetings, celebrations, etc.)Talent Management
- Helps hold People leaders accountable, including providing coaching and feedback, for effective execution of internal Performance Management Cycle
- Conducts and Coaches People leaders in accurately and honestly assessing performance, potential and readiness
- Works with People leaders and Field Leadership in making compensation decisions for all Field staff employees, including base salaries, short and long term incentives
- Works with People leaders and staff to drive employee development ensuring a robust talent pipeline that meets current and future needs of the business Employee Relations
- Works with Field staff and Operators to help ensure McDonald’s Brand restaurants’ People strategies are consistent with current and future needs of the business and comply with applicable employment and labor laws
- Keeps employee relations top-of-mind with Field People leaders and Operators and provides coaching and counseling effectively executing appropriate employee engagement programs, activities, and tools
Qualifications
Must be fully vaccinated (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) for COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination by start date.
3 years of Human Resources experience with an emphasis on employee relations and HR generalist proficiencies
Degree in Human Resources or Certification (Preferred)
Experience leading others and heavy business partner relationship expertise
Experience in the hospitality industry is not required but preferred
Travel: Over 30%. Day and overnight trips required for this position
