McDonald Garden Center is seeking a creative, organized, and dependable Content Marketing Specialist to support our content, marketing operations, and community events. This hands-on role combines social media and content creation with substantial administrative coordination and direct support to the Director of Marketing & Communications.

You’ll work with our marketing team and colleagues across the company to bring ideas to life and keep daily projects moving. We’re looking for a responsible self-starter who takes ownership, follows through, and enjoys sharing ideas and creating as part of a collaborative team.

What You’ll Do 

• Create, schedule, and publish social media content, including photos, short-form videos, captions, and Stories.
• Appear on camera as needed for product features, promotional videos, and other marketing content.
• Write and update blogs, website content, event listings, and promotional materials.
• Monitor social channels and shared inboxes, respond to customer inquiries, and coordinate follow-up.
• Provide administrative and project support to the Director of Marketing & Communications, including scheduling, preparing documents, organizing information, and tracking deadlines.
• Maintain marketing calendars, spreadsheets, reports, files, receipts, and department records.
• Coordinate supply orders, vendors, marketing materials, and distribution to stores.
• Help plan and execute workshops, special events, donations, and community programs.
• Collaborate with marketing, store teams, buyers, operations, and other departments on content, signage, and promotional communications.
• Track content performance and keep websites and business listings accurate.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.
• At least two years of marketing experience, including one year in social media.
• Strong writing skills and experience creating photo and video content.
• Willingness to appear on camera and represent the company in a friendly, professional manner.
• A responsible, proactive approach, with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow through on commitments.
• Enthusiasm for working in a creative, collaborative team—contributing ideas, welcoming feedback, and helping others succeed.
• Strong organization and attention to detail, with comfort balancing creative projects and recurring administrative work.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and working familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or similar content tools; WordPress experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Administrative support or retail experience preferred; an interest in plants and gardening is a plus.

Schedule

This is a full-time, salaried position that may require occasional weekend work to support events.
