About the Role:
With 9 automotive brands across 13 rooftops, our centralized accounting team operates from our Volkswagen store on Broadway Avenue in Littleton, providing consistent financial oversight and operational support to every dealership in the group.
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of all vehicle inventory processes across the organization. This role leads a team of 3–4 Inventory Processors and serves as the primary point of accountability for inventory controls.
This position ensures that all new, used, loaner, and company vehicles are properly recorded, documented, and available for sale, while maintaining strong internal controls and supporting accounting processes tied to inventory. Success in this role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple workflows across a high-volume, multi-store environment.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:
- Supervise and develop a team of Inventory Processors, ensuring accuracy, productivity, and accountability
- Oversee all inventory transactions, including MSOs, dealer trades, street purchases, auction vehicles, cross-sales, loaners, and brand transfers
- Ensure timely and accurate stocking of all new and used vehicles in Tekion
- Establish and enforce inventory control processes and best practices across all 13 stores
- Audit inventory records regularly to identify and resolve discrepancies
Controls, Reconciliations & Close
- Review and support reconciliations related to inventory, floorplans, and cash accounts as they relate to vehicle transactions
- Partner with accounting during month-end close to ensure inventory accuracy and reporting deadlines are met
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and uphold strong internal controls
Partnership & Improvement
- Partner with Accounting and dealership leadership to support operational needs
- Monitor workflow and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and operational demands
- Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across inventory processes
- Assist with special projects and process enhancements as needed
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2 years of experience in accounting, inventory accounting, or dealership operations
- Experience with vehicle cash processes
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated organizational ability and a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management, staff, and third-party vendors
- Experience in high-volume, multi-entity environments
- Experience with Tekion strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer systems
