Position Summary
The Electrical Apprentice / Helper will assist electricians and foremen with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. This position is ideal for someone looking to start a career in the electrical trade while gaining hands-on field experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of electrical systems, including:
- Conduit (EMT, PVC, RGS)
- Wire pulling and terminations
- Devices, lighting, and panels
- Support site work including:
- Trenching and backfilling
- Setting equipment pads and handholes
- Basic civil tasks related to electrical work
- Maintain tools, equipment, and clean job sites
- Follow directions from Journeyman Electricians and Foremen
- Load/unload materials and organize job sites
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic electrical tasks
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Work on commercial, residential, and telecom infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- 0–2 years of electrical or construction experience (not required, but a plus)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying conditions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Basic hand tool knowledge (preferred)
Preferred (Not Required)
- Enrollment in or interest in an electrical apprenticeship program
- Experience with:
- Conduit bending
- Power tools and basic construction
- Telecom or site development work
- OSHA 10 certification
Work Environment
- Field-based position (construction sites, outdoor work)
- May require early start times, overtime, and travel within the region
