This is a full-time, on-site role for a Youth Care Specialist/Overnight Youth Care Specialist at McCrossan Boys Ranch in Sioux Falls, SD. The responsibilities include providing guidance and support to youth during daily activities, assisting in the development and implementation of youth programs, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, and fostering a positive and nurturing environment. The role may also involve mentoring youth, facilitating skill-building activities, supervising day-to-day routines, and coordinating with the team to address the individual needs of the boys.
- Experience in Youth Leadership, Youth Programs, or Youth Work
- Strong Communication skills and a passion for mentoring young individuals
- Background in Social Work or related fields
- Ability to establish trust and build positive relationships with youth
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Human Services or related field is preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Experience working in a residential treatment or similar environment is a plus
