POSITION TITLE: Elementary Counselor K-6
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of Masters Degree in School Guidance & Counseling with an accredited educational institution. Other requirements per job description.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOALS: Implement the educational program for students.
Essential Job Functions:
To teach guidance curriculum as outlined by ADE standards
To counsel individual and small groups of students
To consult with teachers, parents and staff regarding student’s developmental needs and specific information about their students
To refer students with problems and their parents to special programs and/or outside services
To participate in activities which contribute to the effective operation of the school
To assist with testing as needed, including small group creations
To plan and evaluate the campus counseling program
To pursue continuous professional growth
To serve as liaison with the school-based mental health agencies/teams
To collaborate with other counselors in the district on the creation, implementation, and evaluation of the District’s comprehensive school counseling plan
Manage program budgets and resources effectively.
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations..
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
Responsible for other duties as assigned.
Perform teaching duties as needed throughout the district.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule. (Placement depends upon education and experience.)
Length of Contract: 190 days per contract year
