What are the responsibilities and job description for the District Middle School Athletic Director position at McCracken?
To supervise middle school athletic programs which are comprised of students from more than one middle school in consultation with the middle school administration. To act as a consultant to the administrators and coaching personnel on matters pertaining to middle school's athletic program including recommendations for positions and evaluation of coaches performance.
To conduct meetings with middle school coaches whenever necessary; to keep them informed of all matters pertaining to middle and high school athletics. Assume responsibility for middle school athletic program budgets for the combined athletic teams.
Performance Standards
1. Assist in the selection, assignment, and evaluation of middle school athletic coaches and staff members.
2. Foster good school-community relations by keeping the community aware and responsive to the middle school athletic programs.
3. Assume responsibility for the organization and game scheduling of all combined middle school athletic teams.
4. Hire officials and assume responsibility for the proper supervision of all combined middle school athletic events.
5. Assist coaches in making transportation arrangements for all combined middle school athletic events.
6. Ensure that all middle school athletic participants have met the medical requirements.
7. Establish academic requirements of eligibility for participation in all athletic teams. Check grades based on the set criteria and report noncompliant student athletes to the appropriate coach and administrator.
8. Communicate with the high school athletic director in all phases of the McCracken County Athletic Program.
