Experienced Insurance Agent – Property & Casualty
Position Description
Our local, family-owned insurance agency is looking for an experienced Insurance Agent to join our team on a full-time basis. We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and customer-focused professional who holds a current Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license and has experience working with farm, commercial, and personal lines insurance.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with clients, assessing their insurance needs, developing coverage options, providing exceptional customer service, and building long-term client relationships. Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Meet with new and existing clients to understand their insurance needs and recommend appropriate coverage.
- Quote, sell, and service personal, farm, and commercial insurance policies.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
- Explain insurance coverage, policy terms, limits, deductibles, exclusions, and options in a clear and professional manner.
- Review existing policies with clients to identify coverage needs, changes, and opportunities.
- Prepare insurance quotes and proposals from multiple carriers.
- Process new business, policy changes, renewals, cancellations, and other service requests.
- Maintain accurate and organized client files and documentation.
- Follow up with clients, carriers, and agency staff in a timely manner.
- Assist clients with questions and concerns regarding their policies and coverage.
- Work closely with agency team members to provide consistent, high-quality customer service.
- Stay current on insurance products, carrier guidelines, industry changes, and applicable regulations.
- Meet agency goals while maintaining a strong commitment to client service and ethical business practices.
- Perform other duties related to insurance sales and servicing as needed.
Qualifications
- Current Property & Casualty Insurance License required.
- Previous experience working in the insurance industry required.
- Strong working knowledge and experience with: Farm Insurance, Commercial Insurance and Personal Lines Insurance
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Professional, dependable, and personable.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable communicating with clients by phone, email, and in person.
- Proficient with computers and willing to learn agency management systems and insurance technology.
- Ability to build trust and establish lasting relationships with clients.
