Senior Benefits Specialist

The McCoy Group is growing, and we’re looking for a detail-driven, people-focused Sr. Benefits & Onboarding Specialist to join our HR team in Dubuque. This full-time role plays a key part in supporting our employees, strengthening our benefits programs, and creating a smooth and positive onboarding experience for new hires.

What You’ll Do

• Partner closely with the HR Manager to support company goals and HR initiatives
• Clearly explain and administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance
• Prepare benefit cost summaries, ROI reports, and benefit comparisons
• Lead benefit communications, including meeting coordination and presentation creation
• Ensure accurate and timely benefit changes across all systems; collaborate with vendors to resolve issues
• Stay knowledgeable on qualifying events, eligibility guidelines, and open enrollment processes
• Assist with data collection, reporting, and annual filings (HIRD, 1099 HC, 1095C, etc.)
• Utilize iSolved HRIS for benefits tracking, reporting, and onboarding
• Maintain organized, accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality
• Adapt to shifting priorities and support other HR functions as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or current SHRM certification
• 5 years of benefits-related experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent time-management and organizational abilities
• High level of professionalism and discretion
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experience with HRIS systems (iSolved preferred)
• Ability to travel occasionally
