The Allergen Clean Up position exists to clean production areas and equipment in compliance with FDA guidelines for food allergens. Under the general supervision of the Quality Control/Sanitation Manager, this individual must be able to remain fully attentive of their work surroundings while working at a steady pace. Individuals must be able to multi-task, adapt to various work assignments; and follow all safety and Good Manufacturing guidelines. In addition, individuals must work well with others in a supportive team environment in order to meet allergen clean up and quality standards and help minimize production downtime.
Responsibilities:
Break down and clean production equipment to prevent food allergen contamination.
Clean product contact surface areas to prevent food allergen contamination.
Perform visual examination of equipment and product contact surfaces.
Ensure all surfaces, both product contact and non-product contact are clean and free from buildup.
Complete and sign Allergen Log Book.
Work with co-workers to meet allergen sanitation requirements, quality standards and help minimize production downtime.
Operate equipment in a safe manner and ensure the equipment is in good working order by checking and reporting equipment problems.
Follow all safety and Good Manufacturing guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
Must be able to lift 25 pounds on a consistent basis.
Must have the ability to read, write and perform simple math calculations.
Must be able to communicate effectively and work well with others.
Must be able to work in a wet and dusty environment with strong odors.
Must be able to work overtime on a frequent basis and on weekends as required.
