As a member of the Gretna Blending Team, the employee will:
- Set up and operate all pieces of the blending equipment, open and add ingredients to blenders, as well as perform ingredient kit building tasks
- Understand and follow all instructions on production cards and daily schedule (i.e. weights, label requirements, formula integrity, machine number, etc.)
- Keep accurate production records; report information daily; accurate reporting in SAP
- Inspect in-process and finished goods for proper weights, labeling, packaging, pallet configuration. Correct and/or report defects
- Perform sanitation duties, proper housekeeping, and adhere to safety and GMP procedures
- Help maintain equipment, report all machinery breakdowns or problems
- Perform changeovers and wash downs (including chemical) of equipment, as well as change screens, assemble socks and clean totes, on an as-needed basis
- Participate in team/department meetings, actively offering suggestions where warranted
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Basic math, reading and writing skill required
- Basic computer knowledge is required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb. required
- Proven mechanical ability preferred
- 3 year in a manufacturing environment preferred
- SAP experience preferred
- Ability to work in a dusty environment with strong odors and high noise/decibel levels required
- Ability to work in environment with potential exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents required
- Ability to work overtime on short notice and weekends required
- Ability to work in a team environment required
