As part of our Accounting Department, the Accounting Intern will support project accountants and finance staff in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with project invoicing, and contributing to the financial health of ongoing projects. This role is ideal for students pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or business administration who are eager to apply their coursework in a professional environment and learn about accounting operations within the A/E/C (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry.

Project Accounting Support
- Assist Project Accountants in preparing project setup forms, budgets, and financial tracking reports.
- Help review and reconcile labor, expense, and billing data to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Support the preparation and review of client invoices, verifying correct labor and expense charges.
- Update and maintain project financial data in Deltek Vantagepoint and Excel.
- Assist with project close-out activities, ensuring all financial information is properly documented.
- Prepare and maintain reports related to accounts receivable, billing status, and project performance metrics.
- Support monthly financial review processes by compiling and organizing data for management review.
- Conduct data entry and assist with audits, reconciliations, and financial documentation as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with project managers, accounting staff, and other departments.
- Assist in improving internal accounting workflows, documentation, and data organization.
- Perform other accounting or administrative duties as assigned.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar accounting software is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems and processes in a professional consulting environment.
- Exposure to project-based accounting in the A/E/C industry.
