Position Summary
McCormick Taylor has an opening for a Water Resources Engineer III to join our growing Water Resources Engineering Group. Projects range from drainage improvements and flood studies to storm drain design, stormwater management SCM and retrofit design to hydraulic design of bridge and culvert crossings as well as stream restoration and relocation. The ideal candidate is someone who is looking to grow their career, lead design activities, work with and teach younger designers and engineers and will thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple project tasks at one time, meet deadlines, monitor project budgets and work well in a hybrid remote office environment. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform hydrologic/hydraulic design tasks, develop and refine H/H models independently, and provide guidance to junior staff
- Manage SWM, storm drain, sediment control and water quality design projects, including plans, permits, report content and specs/cost estimates with minimal supervision
- Perform field assessments and construction oversight independently, and provide training/supervision to junior staff
- Deliver quality projects in accordance with accepted schedule and budget
- Support of marketing activities and proposal writing
- Attend client meetings
- Manage small project teams of junior/midlevel staff and represent as Project Engineer on behalf of client
- Possess well-established client relationships and continue to identify and recruit new ones, leading to procurement of work
- Developing project management and budgeting skills
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience
- Degree: BS Required in Civil Engineering, MS Preferred
- Certifications Needed: Professional Engineer (PE)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
- Proficient in Microstation, InRoads/ GEOPAK
- Proficient in H&H Analysis Program including at least 5 of the following: TR-20, HY-8, Flowmaster, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Flow2D, SWMM, PondPack
- Fully versed in permitting and regulatory protocols, can provide regulatory program support to clients independently
- Experience in leading design tasks and submitting plans for reviews and approvals
- Experience in working on PennDOT or PA Turnpike projects is preferred.
