Position Summary
McCormick Taylor is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Department. The primary duties of the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager are to serve in a technical role as a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural highway/bridge projects. Experience should include urban and rural highway design, intersection design, interstate/interchange design, sidewalk/ADA/shared use path design, transportation planning, site planning, and preparation of design plans, cost estimates and construction bid packages.

Experience should include urban and rural highway design, intersection design, interstate/interchange design, sidewalk/ADA/shared use path design, transportation planning, site planning, and preparation of design plans, cost estimates and construction bid packages.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all staff necessary to complete assignments
- Prepare, review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
- Ability to work on and/or manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Assist upper management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor
- Prepare proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for assignments
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Review completed design documents for QA/QC
- Help promote company fiscal and hiring goals
- Perform invoicing, status reports, and related accounting needs
Qualifications
- 12 plus years of experience in the design and management of highway/roadway, civil engineering and transportation projects for DOT and/or local municipalities (required)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field required
- Professional Engineer license required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
- Working knowledge in MicroStation, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads preferred
- Project management experience required
- Experience with VDOT preferred
- Knowledge in contract management or construction administration is a plus
