Position Summary
McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for an Environmental Planner II in our National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Services Group in either Harrisburg, PA or Pittsburgh, PA. This position will require an understanding of NEPA regulations and transportation project delivery. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle being involved in multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in hybrid remote/office environment. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required.

Job Requirements
Responsibilities
- Work with senior NEPA specialists and an interdisciplinary team to complete environmental studies for a variety of transportation project for PennDOT and the PA Turnpike Commission
- Assist with environmental studies and draft environmental documentation for compliance with NEPA, Section 4(f), and other federal and state environmental requirements
- Support public involvement activities
- Conduct background environmental research for project scoping documents and proposals
- Assist with environmental field work, as needed
- 4-7 years of experience in the preparation of NEPA documentation for transportation projects with knowledge of NEPA umbrella environmental laws, including Section 4(f), Section 106, Section 6(f), the Endangered Species Act, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, planning, policy, or related field
- Experience working on PennDOT projects and in the CE Expert System; PA Turnpike experience is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication writing skills
- Exceptional document writing and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
- Must possess a valid driver's license to travel to various project locations and meetings
