Position Summary

McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Traffic Designer I. The ideal candidate will work as part of a team on a variety of traffic analysis and design needs for a variety of transportation projects for public agencies. Projects are likely to range from traffic engineering studies, concept development, preliminary engineering, to final design.

Responsibilities

•    Provide field data collection, traffic engineering studies, and field observations.
•    Support traffic analyses and simulations, volume projections, and safety analyses.
•    Assist with design efforts of traffic signal, signing and pavement marking, lighting, ITS, and traffic control plans.
•    Prepare memos, summaries, reports, and other documentation.
•    Deliver quality projects in accordance with accepted schedules and budgets.
•    Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
•    Ability to work as an organized, efficient team player under tight deadlines.

Qualifications
•    B.S. in Civil Engineering.
•    0-4 years of experience in the field of traffic engineering.
•    An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is preferred.
•    Hands-on experience with common traffic engineering software including Synchro and HCS (VISSIM is a plus).
•    Working knowledge of CAD software (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD).
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
