McCormick Construction is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to safely and efficiently operate cranes on active construction sites. This role is critical to maintaining job site safety, productivity, and quality standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, situational awareness, and a commitment to teamwork and safety.

Key Responsibilities

·        Operate hydraulic or lattice cranes to lift, move, position, and place materials and equipment

·        Perform daily pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks

·        Review load charts and ensure lifts are performed within crane capacity limits

·        Communicate clearly with riggers, signal persons, supervisors, and crew members

·        Adhere strictly to OSHA, site-specific, and McCormick Construction safety policies

·        Set up, stabilize, and dismantle cranes as required

·        Maintain accurate logs, inspections, and lift documentation

·        Stop operations immediately if unsafe conditions exist

Qualifications

·        Valid Crane Operator Certification (NCCCO or equivalent required)

·        Crane operating experience in commercial or heavy construction

·        Strong knowledge of crane safety practices, rigging, and load calculations

·        Ability to read and interpret plans, load charts, and job site instructions

·        Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

·        Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

·        Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check

Preferred Qualifications

·        Experience operating multiple crane types

·        OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

·        CDL (Class A or B)

Physical Requirements

·        Ability to sit, stand, climb, and maneuver for extended periods

·        Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

·        Comfortable working at heights and around heavy equipment

·        Field-based role; frequent travel between project sites required.

·        Exposure to an active construction environment, including noise, dust, and heavy equipment.

·        Varying temperatures based on location
