Job Summary
McCord Engineering, Inc. is looking for Senior Electrical Designer at our Georgetown, Texas office. A technically minded individual that is self-motivated with a strong knowledge of distribution design would excel at this position.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
· Create electric overhead and underground distribution designs using AutoCAD software for new power line installations
· Coordinate with developers/engineers/project managers/clients/contractors to create deliverable packages to fit the clients’ needs
· Mentor and train other staff members on design knowledge
· Demonstrate a working knowledge of electric utility industry codes and standards
· Willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a high standard for data quality and accuracy.
· Utilize surveying equipment such as GNSS/RTK systems, GIS, measuring tools, and assorted field tools
· Work well in a fast-paced team environment, whether in the office or in the field, subject to rough terrain and outdoor weather conditions
· Perform other duties and assignments as needed
Qualifications:
· Five to Seven (5-7) years prior experience with electrical distribution design and estimation.
· Strong knowledge of overhead and underground electrical distribution line design, standards of construction, and design guidelines.
· Dependable, trustworthy, self-motivated, and excellent communication skills.
· General knowledge of MS Office Suite and ACAD software is required.
· Knowledge of NIS, Partner, Futura, Pole Foreman, ESRI, and/or PLS-CADD is a plus.
· Valid Driver’s License required.
· Must be willing to travel occasionally as business needs arise.
Education:
· High School Diploma
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
